The workshop

Two people, one bench, no shortcuts.

Every bag is cut from a single hide, saddle-stitched with waxed linen thread and finished by hand. It takes longer. It also means the stitches don't come undone.

Materials

Three things, chosen carefully.

Vegetable-tanned leather

From a family tannery in Walsall. It darkens and softens the more you use it.

Waxed cotton canvas

18oz and shower-proof. Re-wax it once a year and it'll outlast you.

Solid brass fittings

No plating to flake off. Buckles and rivets that age to a soft gold.

“It looked good new. It looks better now, three years in.”

Anna, Field Satchel

“The strap snapped after I caught it on a gate. Came back fixed in a week, no charge.”

Rob, Day Pack

“Bought the tote for my wife. Now I've had to buy my own.”
